Clonavon FIFA 16 Tournament

FIFA 16 TournamentPlayers, past and present, from our Coaching4Christ team Clonavon gathered on Friday for a FIFA 16 tournament. The boys were drawn international sides at random to play with and the standard was high and all of the matches were close run affairs. Mark Robinson came from 3-0 down to defeat his older brother Philip in dramatic semi final whilst Josh Caldwell edged out Simon Penny to progress in the other semi.

The final then saw Josh, Clonavon’s current centre back, and his Spain side faced last season’s goalkeeper Mark and his Germany team! There was plenty of tension in the air as Spain took an early lead. It looked like Josh had the prize wrapped up until he conceded a late penalty which Mark’s Germans tucked away to bring the score level. It took a penalty shoot-out to provide a winner. They say Germans don’t miss penalties but then again, FIFA 16 is only a game! Spain won the shootout and Josh walked away with the spoils, a voucher for the local HMV store.

We hope the boys had an enjoyable evening and encourage them to come along to the other events the church runs throughout the year. For more information on what’s on at the church have a look at the ‘Ministries’ tab be sure to keep up with the ‘Upcoming Events’ calendar here on the website!
