ABOUT THE CHURCH

Discipleship through witness and the Word
You are here:

Our History

  • 1882 – Congregation formed
  • 1896 – Church building in Kinhilt Street opened
  • 2017 – Rev. Jackie Brown was inducted as minister

God’s people are still faithfully serving the Lord today – worshipping together and proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ in love.

Rev. Brown continues to lead the work alongside the diaconate.

You are welcome to join us at any of the services or activities that make up our regular programme of worship, work and witness throughout the year.

Our Beliefs

  • The Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God, which is without error and the final and sufficient authority in all matter of Christian faith and life.
  • Humanity is corrupted in every part, by sin, and so fellowship with God is broken and all humanity is deserving of eternal punishment
  • Salvation comes only by faith in Christ, fully God and fully man; who lived without sin, died as an atoning sacrifice for His church and rose again
  • Within the Godhead there are 3 distinct yet equal and fully divine persons – the Father, Son and Holy Spirit
  • Congregational churches are independent and self governing under the Headship of Christ and therefore not bound by any denominational creed.
